About the Artist:
Numa François Gillet (1868-1940), was a French painter, ceramicist, architect/designer of the Symbolist movement. He was a student of Tony Robert-Fleury and Bouguereau in Paris.
Gillet designed villas in the style of the Merovingian dynasty and was passionate for archeology and prehistory. He a member of the Salon des Artistes Français where he also exhibited, he was also made a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur. [DES-01/16]
