About the Artist
Jan Wellens de Cock, Flemish, (c.1480-before 1527). Jan (Jon) Wellens de Cock was a Flemish painter and draughtsman. He also painted at least two other non-pig ‘Temptations.’ One in is currently in Geneva at the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, the other at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
