Kansas, (fl.1930s)
Pig
- Ten hundred million home rejoiced
- ‘Twas the ending of the war!
- A little boy with joyous heart
- Slipped softly out the door.
- They found him on the barnyard fence
- Just talking to a pig.
- The bright boy thought his heart would burst
- It had swelled so big.
- And he shouted to his curl-tailed friend
- (He thought they were alone)
- “Pig! Pig! the war is over!
- My daddy’s coming home!”
